The 2026 NFL season enters November this week, a crucial point when contenders and pretenders begin to separate. With the November 10 trade deadline fast approaching, teams are deciding whether to sell off assets or strengthen their rosters for a deep playoff run. Those decisions can also shift expectations in the conference futures market.
The parity is striking: 17 of the league’s 32 teams entered Week 8 with a record of .500 or better. We’ve already seen blockbuster trades, and more moves could be on the way.
For bettors, though, the immediate focus is the Week 8 card. If you’re comparing NFL betting sites, shop around for the best available price on each of the four picks below.
Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – Odds & Prediction
Sunday, November 1 – 1:00 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Cleveland +165; Pittsburgh -195
Point spread: Pittsburgh -3.5 (-105)
Total: 39
Odds from Lucky Rebel.
First place in the AFC North is on the line, a scenario few NFL bettors anticipated for this Browns-Steelers Week 8 clash back in the summer. The winner will stand alone atop the division. If Cleveland wins, it will also secure the head-to-head tiebreaker over Pittsburgh, having already beaten the Steelers 27-24 at home a month ago.
The betting market has started to believe in this Browns squad, with more than 65% of point-spread tickets backing Cleveland as an underdog. Before following that public support, compare the current NFL odds with the prices quoted here. I’m staying off the bandwagon: the Browns look overvalued both on paper and on the field.
Cleveland is 5-2, but all five victories have come by four points or fewer. Its last two wins, against Tennessee and Baltimore, came on the final play. A team relying this heavily on close-game results looks vulnerable to regression.
The offense ranks 27th in points per play, 30th in third-down conversion rate, 28th in points per game and 23rd in yards per play. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s defense, which sits just inside the top 10, has built its reputation against struggling offenses. Pittsburgh’s offense has weaknesses of its own, but I trust the Steelers more than this overvalued Browns team.
Best Bet: Pittsburgh -3
I trust the Steelers much more than Cleveland in this spot. It’s an opportunity to fade a Browns squad that has become a trendy public underdog.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills – Odds & Prediction
Sunday, November 1 – 1:00 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Baltimore +150; Buffalo -175
Point spread: Buffalo -3 (-122)
Total: 54.5
Odds from Bovada.
Another AFC North team faces a high-profile matchup this week, with Baltimore expected to have quarterback Lamar Jackson back for its trip to Buffalo. These teams have delivered some memorable recent games, including Buffalo’s wild 41-40 win in Week 1 of 2025 and its narrow 27-25 playoff victory earlier that year.
When Jackson and Josh Allen are at their best, they can produce fireworks and influence the NFL MVP race. Buffalo’s offense ranks in the top five across all major offensive metrics, including first in points per play, points per game and yards per play. Even so, I don’t expect as many points as this total suggests.
Baltimore has leaned heavily on its defense over the past month with Jackson sidelined. Aside from a disastrous second half against Cincinnati last week, when the Ravens allowed 35 points, the unit has delivered respectable results.
Buffalo’s defense has plenty of motivation to improve coming off its bye week. The Bills rank 30th in points allowed per game at 28.5. They’ve been eliminated from the postseason in each of the past three years after allowing 33, 32 and 27 points in those losses. The bye gave them time to address those defensive problems.
Best Bet: Under 54.5
More than 85% of the money has backed the over, but I don’t expect scoring to come that easily. I expect both teams to place renewed emphasis on defense, with each facing a test against an elite quarterback.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders – Odds & Prediction
Sunday, November 1 – 8:20 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Philadelphia +212; Washington -255
Point spread: Washington -6 (-110)
Total: 40.5
Odds from Lucky Rebel.
This Sunday Night Football showdown between NFC East rivals carries less appeal than the television networks likely hoped, with both the Eagles and Commanders sitting three games below .500. Both teams need a win to keep their seasons on track.
Quarterback injuries help explain why the 2026 season has been so difficult for both teams. But with Philadelphia allowing 25.0 points per game and Washington surrendering 28.7, the defenses also deserve their share of the blame.
The quarterback situations will dominate the betting discussion, but those defensive struggles make a total of 40 or 41 points look too low. Together, these offenses average 40.1 points per game, with Philadelphia scoring 18.1 and Washington putting up 22.0.
Judging this matchup solely by those modest scoring averages overlooks how poorly both defenses have played. In prime time, I expect both offenses to play aggressively as they try to keep their seasons alive.
Best Bet: Over 40.5
The last five meetings between these rivals have all gone over the total. I expect these two desperate teams to continue that trend. Given their defensive struggles, 40.5 looks too low.
Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks – Odds & Prediction
Monday, November 2 – 8:15 p.m. ET
Moneyline: Chicago +148; Seattle -173
Point spread: Seattle -3 (-115)
Total: 46.5
Odds from Bovada.
The Bears and Seahawks are both coming off prime-time home wins over AFC opponents. Chicago beat New England 30-24, while Seattle defeated Kansas City 20-3, handing the Chiefs their first loss of 2026. They meet on Monday Night Football, and while Chicago’s extra rest offers a slight edge, Caleb Williams’ first trip to Seattle could offset it.
Williams is no longer a rookie, which is fortunate given that rookie quarterbacks are 2-12 in Seattle since 2005. Still, the historical record offers cautionary examples of talented quarterbacks making their first career trip to the Pacific Northwest:
- Patrick Mahomes: Lost 38-31 (2018)
- Aaron Rodgers: Lost 14-7 (2012)
- Josh Allen: Lost 44-34 (2020)
- Jared Goff: Lost 26-6 (2017)
- Matthew Stafford: Lost 32-20 (2009)
- Dak Prescott: Lost 24-13 (2018)
- Drake Maye: Lost 13-10 (2026)
Seattle’s home-field advantage remains a major factor, and its dominant win over Kansas City suggests a return to last season’s championship form.
Against an improving Chicago team, the Seahawks should give Williams a difficult test. Seattle’s defense ranks first in yards allowed per game (233.9) and fourth in points allowed per game (17.9).
Best Bet: Seattle -3
I’m reluctant to back a quarterback making his first start in this hostile environment. For me, this is a good opportunity to sell high on a Bears team that has quickly become a media favorite in 2026.
