Betfred Sports Lounge Coming To Denver Broncos Home Stadium

  • Betfred Sports has announced a sports lounge/activation tent for Empower Field at Mile High–the home stadium of the Denver Broncos.
  • Betfred Sports took the first retail sports bet after Colorado launched sports betting in May 2020.
  • The Denver Broncos signed a promotional deal with FanDuel in June 2020 making them the first NFL team to have a partnership with a sportsbook.

Sports betting lounges are definitely a ‘growth industry’. We’ve seen quite a few pop up in stadiums across the US recently with Indianapolis adding multiple lounges in the span of a few days. Given the success of Colorado’s sports betting market lounges in the state’s sporting venues were an inevitability. That’s why today’s announcement from the NFL Denver Broncos and Betfred Sports of a branded sports betting lounge on the South Lawn area outside of Empower Field at Mile High isn’t a big surprise.

The mainstream media narrative is that sports betting is booming as it spreads across the United States. That’s only partially correct with many states’ sports betting ecosystems ranging from mediocre to downright awful. You can count the states that have more or less ‘done it right’ on two hands and have fingers left over. Right at the top of the list is Colorado which is without a doubt the best sports betting ecosystem in the United States. Colorado has facilitated a highly competitive sports betting scene while creating ancillary economic upsides that have benefited the entire state. That’s why there are 25 individual mobile betting apps available to Colorado residents–and counting. No other state even comes close.

The Denver Broncos announced a partnership with FanDuel on June 16, 2020 making them the first NFL team to have a promotional relationship with a sportsbook. They added Betfred Sports as a partner shortly thereafter. Betfred Sports holds a special place in the Colorado sports betting scene–the Betfred retail location at the Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk was the first ‘brick and mortar’ sportsbook in the state and took Colorado’s first ever ‘in person’ bet. The plans for a lounge at Empower Field were announced along with the partnership deal with the Broncos and with the team’s first home game of the 2021 on deck it’s becoming a reality.

Here’s a description of the Betfred branded sports lounge from today’s press release:

To enhance the fan tailgate experience, Betfred Sports will be opening an activation tent at the South Lawn area outside Empower Field at Mile High for every Denver Broncos home game during the 2021-2022 season.

Broncos fans will be able to enter into the tent and watch football games on multiple TVs, enjoy its own bar area, earn free bets & beer and view live odds. The surrounding area will include games, a beer garden, sitting area and overall an unforgettable tailgate experience. Must be 21 years or older.

While fans are at the tent, they can download the app and sign up for an online Betfred Sports account on betfredsports.com to receive a 100% wager match of up to $500, win or lose. Bettors can wager on a variety of betting types including straight bets, in-play wagering, parlays and more all football season long.

The Broncos are 2-0 on the season and will host the New York Jets on Sunday, September 26. For their first home of the year the Betfred Sports South Lawn Lounge will host a meet and greet at the tent with Denver Broncos alumni Rod Smith. Broncos’ fans will be able to get signed pictures and have their photos taken with three-time All Pro selection and two-time World Champion.

Broncos Chief Commercial Officer Mac Freeman was succinct in his press release quote:

“In partnership with Betfred USA Sports, Broncos fans are able to enjoy this one-of-a-kind pregame experience right outside of Empower Field at Mile High. This lounge will allow fans to engage with the team in a unique and exciting way.”

As was Bryan Bennett, COO of Betfred Sports:

“This will be a great opportunity to really interact with fans and inform attendees who Betfred Sports is and what we have to offer.”

Betfred’s US offices are based in Las Vegas. The Betfred Sports app is live in Colorado, Pennsylvania and Iowa and they’ve been licensed in the state of Louisiana. They’ll be expanding soon to Nevada, Washington, Virginia and Arizona.
