  • Toronto based theScore Bet has launched in Indiana.
  • The company launched mobile sports betting Colorado last week.
  • Indiana is the third state for theScore Bet along with Colorado and New Jersey.

This has been a busy month for Toronto based sports media/gaming company theScore. Back at home, they’ve recently been approved to ‘graduate’ to the Toronto Stock Exchange from the TSXV (Venture) exchange. Down in the ‘lower 48’ they’ve been making some impressive inroads into the nascent US sports betting market. Last week, they launched their mobile betting app in Colorado. This week, they’ve gone live in Indiana.

Indiana has quietly become one of the more intriguing markets in the US. Unlike their neighbors in Illinois, Indiana has created a competitive regulatory framework and is attracting quite a few national companies. Wynn Sports has announced plans to enter the market and with limited ‘outs’ in Illinois there’s every reason to think that plenty of bettors will be streaming over the state line on NFL football Sundays.

John Levy, Founder and CEO of theScore, is excited to be in Indiana and happy that his company’s partnership with Penn National Gaming is paying dividends:

“This launch comes just weeks after we introduced theScore Bet to fans in Colorado, a huge testament to the best-in-class technology, multi-state infrastructure, and product development team supporting our ongoing expansion. Indiana is the first state we’ve launched in under our multi-state market access agreement with Penn National Gaming and we’re excited to showcase our incredible and unique combination of media and gaming to this passionate fan base.”

theScore has been long established as one of the best sports scores and news apps available and they’re receiving considerable praise for their betting application as well. Things are looking good for theScore and CEO Levy took the time to comment on his company’s move to the ‘big board’ at the Toronto Stock Exchange:

“We’re excited to be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and further raise the profile of our growing leadership position in North American sports media, esports, and gaming. This graduation comes at an exciting time for theScore as we continue the multi-state rollout of our award-winning sportsbook, theScore Bet, introducing our unique media and gaming experience to even more sports fans.”

There are now 11 mobile sportsbooks live in Indiana with the forthcoming addition of Wynn Sports set to make it an even dozen. Penn National owns two properties in the Hoosier State: the Ameristar East Chicago and Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg.
