  • Fubo Sportsbook is planning a launch by the end of the year with specific states ‘TBA’.
  • Fubo Sportsbook is the sports betting subsidiary of streaming network fubo TV.
  • The company has just announced an ‘Authorized Gaming Operator’ partnership with NASCAR.

Fubo Sportsbook–the betting subsidiary of streaming network fubo TV–is planning to launch by the end of 2021. They haven’t’ indicated which states they’ll be active in upon launch but say this information is ‘forthcoming’. Fubo had previously announced licensing and market access agreements for Arizona, Pennsylvania and Iowa along with market access agreements for New Jersey and Indiana. The company has also started to ramp up their marketing and brand building efforts with the most recent development being announced earlier today as Fubo Sportsbook is now an ‘Authorized Gaming Operator’ of NASCAR.

NASCAR was quick to jump on board the sports betting bandwagon and have already established relationships with other ‘Authorized Gaming Partners’ including BetMGM, Penn National and WynnBET. They’ve also got a deal with DraftKings as ‘Official Daily Fantasy Sports Game’. NASCAR has started to integrate betting related content into their website and other media channels so it appears that a sportsbook gets more ‘bang for the buck’ with stock car racing than many other sports.

Here’s the details of the partnership from a Fubo Sportsbook press release:

Fubo Sportsbook, a next-generation mobile sportsbook from Fubo Gaming, a subsidiary of sports-first TV streaming platform fuboTV Inc. (NYSE: FUBO), today announced a partnership with NASCAR to become an Authorized Gaming Operator (AGO). As partners, Fubo Sportsbook and NASCAR will work together to provide racing fans with a unique and engaging wagering experience. The launch of Fubo Sportsbook is subject to requisite regulatory approvals. This is Fubo Sportsbook’s first partnership in auto racing and marks its third major marketing deal in the professional sports industry following partnerships with the New York Jets (NFL) and Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA).

Fubo Sportsbook will be promoted as an Authorized Gaming Operator of NASCAR through a multi-channel marketing campaign bolstered by at-track assets, in-app use of NASCAR-owned track, series and event marks and logos, in addition to the distribution of assets across NASCAR’s digital and social platforms and events.

The press release gives little additional information on Fubo Sportsbook plans other than saying the following:

Expected to launch in the fourth quarter 2021, Fubo Sportsbook aims to be a next-generation mobile sportsbook purpose-built to meet sports fans’ growing demand for interactivity through an industry-first integration of sports wagering and live TV streaming.

Fubo Sportsbook may very well be the ‘industry-first integration of sports wagering and live TV streaming’ but they’ll soon have plenty of company. DAZN has recently started to hire with the intention of creating a sports betting and gaming strategy and satellite TV giant DISH Network is working on their own integrated platform with DraftKings. Sam Rattner, chief operating officer of Fubo Gaming, is happy to be working with NASCAR:

“We’re eager to partner with NASCAR, a league with a rich history and passionate followers. As an Authorized Gaming Operator, we look forward to building engaging sports betting experiences for new and existing racing fans. Fubo Sportsbook is continuing to expand its marketing footprint, propelling us toward our goal of reaching sports enthusiasts across the country.”

Joseph Solosky, managing director of sports betting, NASCAR, is equally excited to have Fubo Sportsbook on board:

“Fubo Sportsbook provides us with an opportunity to further expand NASCAR’s reach through a unique sports betting experience. Whether it’s the casual viewer or die-hard race fan, Fubo Sportsbook’s innovative approach to sports wagering brings a more exciting experience for our audience as they’re able to interact with the sport in new ways.”

There are just four more races left in the 2021 NASCAR season so you’re not likely to see much in the way of Fubo Sportsbook integration until the 2022 season begins with ‘The Clash’ exhibition race to be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
