Thanksgiving Holiday Betting Odds

  • Thanksgiving is the traditional start of the holiday season in the US.
  • Thanksgiving Day and the days immediately after are among the biggest days of the year for retail sales.
  • NFL football on Thanksgiving Day dates back to 1920.

The meaning the US Thanksgiving Holiday isn’t what it used to be. While the real backstory of the late November holiday isn’t quite as cheery as what students have been taught in school for decades the Thanksgiving Holiday has transcended the controversy over whether it should be celebrated at all. While the entire narrative about the ‘Pilgrims’ and the Native Americans peacefully coming together is more propaganda than fact there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with getting family and friends together to celebrate the fact that our lives are generally pretty good with food, booze, cigars and all of the other little things that add depth and flavor to our existence.

Even if you disdain the iconography of Thanksgiving and/or have no friends you have to objectively admit that it has broader significance in terms of the US economy with a big focus on travel, food and retail sales. The Thanksgiving Weekend is the traditional start of the Winter Holiday shopping season and we’ll focus on Christmas and Hanukah later this year. ‘Black Friday’ has been supplanted by ‘Cyber Monday’ as the biggest shopping day of the year as more and more Americans figure out that chilling at home while ordering gifts online is much more preferable to battling an angry mob for cut rate electronics. In fact, we love ‘Black Friday’ so much that we’ll have a dedicated set of odds on it including Over/Under totals on arrests, injuries and the percentage of shoppers who will be drunk.

Here is a bountiful cornucopia of Thanksgiving Holiday 2019 betting odds:
