Saturday MLS Soccer Betting Preview

by in Soccer on

Busy day of MLS soccer betting action with five games on the board. The Los Angeles Football Club aka LAFC is still dominating play in the league with 37 points–that’s 9 better than the West’s second place team the LA Galaxy and 6 better than the Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia Union.

LA GALAXY AT FC CINCINNATI

The LA Galaxy are still trying to run down their crosstown rival LAFC who currently hold a 9 point advantage in the Western Conference. They’ve got a good chance to take all three points here as they travel to Nippert Stadium to take on the lowly FC Cincinnati who check in with the MLS’ worst record. Cincy has lost four straight and their play at home all season has been extremely poor with a record of 2-1-3 where they’ve scored six goals and conceded nine. Galaxy going for their third straight road win and are just the better team.

Our Pick
BET LA GALAXY PK -132 OVER FC CINCINNATI

REAL SALT LAKE AT CHICAGO FIRE

Both teams need momentum. RSL is currently in the 7th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference though they’ve got plenty of company as they’re tied with 8th place San Jose (19 points) and 1 point up on 9th place Vancouver. RSL has been a different team at Rio Tinto–they’ve been pretty miserable on the road with a record of 2-1-6 with 10 goals for and 19 against. Chicago likewise has been much better at home with a record of 4-3-1 scoring 17 goals and conceding only 8. We’ll play this one accordingly.

Our Pick
BET CHICAGO FIRE -1 -113 OVER REAL SALT LAKE

TORONTO AT DALLAS

Toronto is in 7th place but their grasp on the last playoff spot in the East is a tenuous one. They’ve got four teams below them on the table within three points. Dallas is in fifth place in the West but they’ve been sputtering of late with only one win in their last eight MLS fixtures. Toronto has also been in poor form winless in their last seven MLS matches. Both teams need a win but Dallas is a strong home side (one loss YTD) and should take the three points.

Our Pick
BET DALLAS -106 OVER TORONTO

COLORADO RAPIDS AT VANCOUVER WHITECAPS

Vancouver is just 3-3-3 at BC Place this year but they’re unbeaten in five of six at home. Colorado’s form is fairly good having gone unbeaten in five with four of those games wins. The problem is that away from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park the Rapids have been abysmal not only this year (1-1-5) but for several years winning just three of their last 27 away games.

Our Pick
BET VANCOUVER WHITECAPS +115 OVER COLORADO RAPIDS

HOUSTON DYNAMO AT PORTLAND TIMBERS

Timbers have a downright bizarre schedule this year. Due to renovation on their Providence Park home field they have played 12 of their first 13 games away from the Rose City. They’ll benefit from the back loaded home heavy schedule with 16 of their final 21 games on their own field. Timbers are in last place in the West but are likely much better than they’ve showed this year due to the burden of playing so many on the road. This is a team that has lost only two home games in each of the past two years so look for them to be a tough out at Providence Park the rest of the way.

Our Pick
BET PORTLAND TIMBERS -145 OVER HOUSTON DYNAMO
