NFL Betting Preview: Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns

This AFC North matchup immediately creates tension because divisional games in Week 1 rarely behave predictably. Cincinnati opens as a -2.5 favorite at -110, with Cleveland at +2.5 and the total around 47.5. When these teams meet, physicality wins, and September weather in Cleveland can be unpredictable.

Cincinnati’s offense remains one of the most explosive in football. Their passing attack can erase deficits quickly, and they excel at attacking the middle of the field. The challenge is that Cleveland’s defense, when healthy, has the personnel to match up with Cincinnati’s receivers. This is one of the few defenses that can force Cincinnati into extended drives instead of big strikes.

Cleveland’s offense, meanwhile, is built differently. They rely heavily on the run to open play action. Against Cincinnati, that matters because the Bengals’ run defense is improved but still not elite. If Cleveland can generate consistent 4–5 yard gains on the ground, they can control pace and keep Cincinnati’s offense off the field.

The biggest X-factor is how quickly both quarterbacks settle in. Week 1 divisional games often see miscommunications, tipped balls, and turnovers. With pressure coming from both sides, mistakes could swing the game.

The total at 47.5 feels high for a divisional opener, but if both offenses find rhythm early, it could still get there.

Prediction: Bengals -2.5
