Continuous reports out of the Pittsburgh camp have been quiet and consistent about the health of franchise QB Ben Roethlisberger. General Manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin have said recently that they are not concerned with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger being ready to go after last year’s right elbow surgery…
And they were right.
Roethlisberger posted a video Monday afternoon that opened with a video of him on an airplane saying that he wouldn’t cut his hair or shave his beard (which was basically bigfoot length) until he was able to throw a “legit NFL pass” to one of his teammates. Not just throw something, an actual NFL pass to one of his teammates. The video then fast forwards to a slim, almost unrecognizable version of Roethlisberger throwing passes to teammates JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Ryan Switzer.
The video ends with Smith-Schuster declaring “he’s back”, which should bring joy and a sigh of relief to Steelers nation. Pittsburgh finished the 2019 season 8-8, failing to reach the postseason for a second-straight year.
If you’re looking to capitalize on this storyline, there may be something that you can lay some dough on before the regular season starts. Notable names to also take into consideration are Houston’s JJ Watt, Cincinnati’s AJ Green, and Tampa’s Rob Gronkowski, who came out of retirement to join Tom Brady in the NFC South.
