  • Fanatics acquired PointsBet’s US operations in October 23.
  • Fanatics Sportsbook is now live in 17 US states.

Fanatics is making significant strides in the sports betting industry with the continuation of its customer migration process, marking a notable expansion into Kansas with the launch of the Fanatics Sportsbook. This development allows existing PointsBet customers in Kansas to seamlessly transition to the Fanatics platform, utilizing their current usernames and passwords. Moreover, all customer account balances, reward points, and responsible gaming settings will be preserved and transferred to Fanatics, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted betting experience for users.

This migration is part of a broader strategy following Fanatics’ acquisition of PointsBet’s U.S. operations for $225 million in October 2023. The Fanatics Sportsbook is now operational in 17 states across the U.S., showcasing the brand’s rapid growth and its ambition to become a dominant player in the sports betting market.

Fanatics’ expansion continued with its entry into North Carolina, becoming one of the eight online sportsbooks to commence operations on March 11, in line with the state’s launch of online sports betting. To adhere to regulatory requirements, Fanatics secured a partnership with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, establishing itself as the franchise’s official sports betting partner through a long-term market access deal.

Despite the swift rebranding in several states, Louisiana, Wyoming, and New Jersey remain the only states pending a full transition from PointsBet to Fanatics. However, Fanatics’ foray into Kansas is timely, capitalizing on the state’s burgeoning sports betting market, which reported a $203 million total sports betting handle in the preceding month, reflecting a year-on-year increase from $194 million.

Fanatics’ presence isn’t confined to the digital realm; the sportsbook operator is also expanding its brick-and-mortar footprint. The latest addition is a new retail sportsbook at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut, marking Fanatics’ tenth retail sportsbook opening and its fifth within a sports venue. This new facility spans 2,300 square feet and is equipped with betting windows, Suzohapp self-service betting kiosks, high-definition TVs, and a full-service restaurant, offering sports fans a comprehensive and engaging betting environment.

As Fanatics continues to broaden its operational scope across the United States, both online and in retail settings, its strategic acquisitions and partnerships underscore the brand’s commitment to providing a superior sports betting experience. With its ambitious expansion strategy, Fanatics is poised to capture a significant share of the growing U.S. sports betting market, solidifying its position as a leading force in the industry.
