  • The nine year deal will include plenty of branding and other promotional opportunities for the newest Formula 1 event.

Cryptocurrency and financial services platform Crypto.com has been making its mark all over the sports world during the past year or two. In addition to a variety of team and league level sponsorships, they’re likely best known for their ‘rebrand’ of the venue formerly known as the Staples Center and now known as the Crypto.com Arena.

On an international level, their latest promotional deal might be bigger than putting their name on the home venue of the Los Angeles Lakers. Earlier today, Crypto.com announced that they will serve as the naming sponsor and title partner for the newest Formula 1 race on the schedule, aka the Miami Grand Prix in Miami, Florida May 6-8, 2022. The nine year deal will see the Crypto.com incorporated into the officail event title and logo, along with a myriad of branding exposures across the Miami International Autodrome. The new ‘official’ name of the event: Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.

The deal between the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix and Crypto.com is the first commercial partnership to be announced for the inaugural event that will take place on the new 5.41km circuit in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Miami International Autodrome will be the 11th different venue in the United States to host a World Championship Formula 1 race and will form round five of this year’s campaign on the weekend of May 6-8, 2022.

The press release pointed out that the Crypto.com logo is already a known entity in Formula 1 racing:

F1 fans will already be familiar with the logos of Crypto.com, as the world’s fastest growing cryptocurrency platform became a Global Partner of Formula 1® in 2021, sponsoring the thrilling Sprint series. Powered by cryptocurrency, Web3 will be more fair and equitable, owned by the builders, creators and users.

In addition to prominent signage across the circuit, Crypto.com branding will be integrated across the Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix campus. The Crypto.com Terrace hospitality area features unparalleled 360 degrees views of the track, including an exclusive observation deck at Turn 4. Level one of this space will be open to all fans attending the event.

Fans will also be excited to visit the Crypto.com Fan Zone which will take pride of place in the center of the Hard Rock Stadium, on the field, and will feature a host of entertainment and activities across the weekend.
