Malta based Betway is a well known gaming provider throughout the world–particularly in Europe, Africa and Mexico. They’ve just launched their first presence in the US as their mobile sports betting app is live–where else?--the new epicenter of American sports betting, Colorado. Betway is the 20th sports betting app licensed by the Colorado Division of Gaming. With the Sky Ute Casino Resort tribal gaming property also offering a sports betting app that’s a total of 21 different options in the Centennial State.
It was obvious that a Betway US launch was immanent *somewhere* for a couple of weeks now due to the brisk pace with which the company has been signing sponsorships and partnership deals with American sports interests. On March 22, Betway announced a deal with the Miami Open tennis tournament to become the event’s ‘Official Sports Betting Partner’.
Several days later, Betway announced partnership deals with a number of NBA and NHL teams:

The team deals will see five NBA franchises; Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors bring Betway to the most recognisable basketball league in the world.
Betway will also be on the ice, securing a partnership with the four-time Stanley Cup Champions, New York Islanders.
Additionally, Los Angeles Kings will also feature the brand via in-game and other digital assets.
These announcements demonstrate the Betway brand’s ever-growing commitment to sponsorship of the highest profile teams in the highest profile sports.
The actual licensee in the US is Digital Gaming Corporation, a British firm best known for online casino games. They entered the US market for the first time back in September 2020, partnering with BetMGM to launch their slot games in New Jersey. Digital Gaming’s entry into sports betting in some form has been apparent since they were approved for a Temporary Internet Sports Betting Operator License by the Colorado Division of Gaming in April, 2020.

Betway has entered into an exclusive brand licence agreement with DGC for the use of the Betway brand in the US.
DGC has secured market access in a number of US states where it will use the global Betway brand for its sports betting and iGaming offering.
Betway/DGC reportedly has market access agreements in 10 states. Next up appears to be New Jersey with a ‘coming soon’ designation already on the Betway website.
Betway’s casino partner in Colorado is the Famous Bonanza Casino in Central City.
