MLS Soccer Betting: New England Revolution at DC United

Three games on the Friday MLS soccer board and in this preview we’ll look at an Eastern Conference matchup between the visiting New England Revolution and DC United at Audi Field. DC United are currently in second place in the MLS Eastern Conference and trying to reel in the first place Philadelphia Union. They trail the Union by five points and with Philadelphia hitting the road to play at Real Salt Lake this weekend they have a good opportunity to make up some ground. New England and Toronto are technically tied for 7th and 8th with 23 points though Toronto has the tiebreaker. This means that if the season ended today the Revolution would be on the outside looking in.

DC United is hoping to start another run of strong play after their five game unbeaten streak ended on the road at Dallas last time out. The United have lost only two games at Audi Field this season though they’ve accepted more draws than they likely should have. Their record at home is 5-4-2 with 17 goals scored against 12 conceded. Their recent home form is even better than their record indicates–the two losses came early in the season to Los Angeles and New York City and since then they’ve gone six straight without a loss at home.

New England has shown improved form of late to the point that they’re likely a better team than their record indicates. The Revolution’s road record looks ugly enough at 2-3-4 with 12 scored and 22 conceded. They enter the contest with DC on a 7 game unbeaten streak overall and they’ve picked up 7 points in their last three road games. Unfortunately for New England, they might feel a bit ‘snakebit’ heading into Audi Field–they’ve never won there and the losing streak at Washington DC now stands at 7 games. DC off a loss looks like the play
